Wout Hoeboer. Dada for now and for later, Dada for Ever

On July 21, 1958, Victor Servranckx sent a postcard to Wout Hoeboer. With a sense of humor, he addressed them with a word game: How? Farmer (Boer)! The farmers (Boeren) are the best !!  (word play on his surname).

More than sixty years later, this joke among friends became the title of a publication and an exhibition in Mu.ZEE following a generous donation of more than 100 works by the heirs to Mu.ZEE. The donation focuses on Hoeboer's experimental work from the 1930s and is a perfect addition to the already existing Hoeboer collection - built by Willy Van den Bussche - consisting of assemblages, figure action paintings and Dada abstract collage paintings from the 1950s.
